Octavio Guilabertus made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Arturo Chinto sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute Nicolas Acevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavio Guilabertus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 minutes, Arturo Chinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chumillo and the La Mentira players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes Chumillo got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Chinto. 23 minutes into the game, Cristian Carlomagno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Mentira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chumillo the free kick. La Mentira's Elpidio Eguerdi got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Leonides Hitz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Octavio Guilabertus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Acevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolas Acevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Octavio Guilabertus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Chinto in the 52nd minute of play. Octavio Guilabertus came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Chumillo's Arturo Chinto. But to his dismay, Arturo Chinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Octavio Guilabertus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Chinto in the 56th minute of play. Leonides Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 68 minutes, Arturo Chinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chumillo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Chinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arturo Chinto struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Octavio Guilabertus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chumillo. After 86 played minutes La Mentira got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Carlomagno. La Mentira's Octavio Guilabertus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Chinto in the 95th minute of play. Jeronimo Fidensio made a great header on Chumillo's corner, it was just that La Mentira's Octavio Guilabertus managed to reach the ball for a save. La Mentira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
