After a rather tough play, Chumillo's Vicente Cordearo got a free kick in the 18th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Carlomagno during the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, La Mentira's Nicanor Rojelio got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute Cristian Carlomagno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Lizar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonides Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Chinto's late challenge caught a La Mentira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Chinto helped the player get up and apologised. After 47 played minutes Chumillo got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Chinto.

Sergio Lizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Hitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Arturo Chinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chumillo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Chinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Chinto couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chumillo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
