Ubaldo Dolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Aztore in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Urtsua in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Atarrabi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristobal Chepe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Enrique Atarrabi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Guido Aztore notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Estudiantes de la Plata's Ubaldo Dolfo. Ubaldo Dolfo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ubaldo Dolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Gilesindo in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Cristobal Chepe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Atarrabi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Mauricio Gustau fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crespo's protests and gave Mauricio Gustau a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes, Estudiantes de la Plata's Joel Seguinus shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Enrique Atarrabi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Estudiantes de la Plata reached it. Enrique Atarrabi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Urtsua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrique Atarrabi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristobal Chepe went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score.

In the 57th minute, Hector Nahia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Crespo booed when Estudiantes de la Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Seguinus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ubaldo Dolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Aztore's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. If Americo Semeno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crespo's Enrique Atarrabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Urtsua in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to Crespo getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Mauricio Gustau hit a great ball. Augusto Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Enrique Atarrabi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Estudiantes de la Plata booed when Crespo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Espiridion didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Estudiantes de la Plata had won after a very even match.
