Felipe Ur charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Ur the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes Estudiantes de la Plata got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Ur. In the 14th minute Baldomiro Irrintzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Dolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Augusto Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Urtsua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiburcio Chale having to make a save. In the 34th minute, Cristobal Chepe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiburcio Chale was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Augusto Urtsua struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Tiburcio Chale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estudiantes de la Plata. Lázaro Precioso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Ubaldo Dolfo made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de la Plata's zone, Baldomiro Irrintzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Dolfo came out of the goal and Baldomiro Irrintzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Urtsua made a kick off. Cristobal Chepe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Tiburcio Chale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 58 minutes of play Sportivo Pueyrredon's Damaso Formerio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Pueyrredon's Damaso Formerio got a free kick in the 59th minute. Tiburcio Chale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Urtsua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiburcio Chale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Urtsua in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Cristobal Chepe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de la Plata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristobal Chepe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Augusto Urtsua kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Lázaro Precioso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Dolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had been going on for 86 minutes, Estudiantes de la Plata's Joel Seguinus got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tiburcio Chale. Lázaro Precioso struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. A collision led to Sportivo Pueyrredon getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Isidro Pacorro hit a great ball. The corner led Estudiantes de la Plata's Joel Seguinus to fire away a dangerous shot which Tiburcio Chale despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Although Sportivo Pueyrredon had been in control for most of the match, Estudiantes de la Plata still came away with the win.
