David Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Eulalio Maore fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Darwen Football Club's protests and gave Eulalio Maore a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Darwen Football Club getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Eulalio Maore hit a great ball. Dionisio Monico might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iacob Petruț. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dionisio Monico ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Feuergeist FC's David Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iker Jatsu in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Jatsu in the 61st minute of play forced Feuergeist FC's goalkeeper David Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iker Jatsu in the 72nd minute of the match.
