Ákos Csontos came out of the goal and Wilfredo Maureo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the match, ֎ Atlanta ֎'s goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Urtsin came free, but Fernan Maiorga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teobaldo Urtsin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Fernan Maiorga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Teobaldo Urtsin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of ֎ Atlanta ֎'s Fernan Maiorga. Fernan Maiorga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Cornelio Rio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teobaldo Urtsin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ripiculti de La Plata's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornelio Rio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernan Maiorga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cosme Ilixo to make the kick off. Ripiculti de La Plata's Rafael Clodio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernan Maiorga in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the ֎ Atlanta ֎ defense, Teobaldo Urtsin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernan Maiorga. The ֎ Atlanta ֎ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernan Maiorga should have stopped the shot. Teobaldo Urtsin struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Fernan Maiorga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ripiculti de La Plata. ֎ Atlanta ֎'s Fernan Maiorga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Clodio in the 66th minute of play. Fernan Maiorga was out of position in the 73 minute of play, and Teobaldo Urtsin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teobaldo Urtsin really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Ripiculti de La Plata's Cornelio Rio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fernan Maiorga. That made the score 0-7 after 79 minutes of play. Fernan Maiorga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornelio Rio in the 83rd minute of play. When Teobaldo Urtsin came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ripiculti de La Plata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobaldo Urtsin couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Teobaldo Urtsin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernan Maiorga was relentless in the 86th minute of the game.
