The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Frisco got free with Cipriano Itzaina in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cipriano Itzaina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that River Plate were the better team. River Plate's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
