The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolando Raphael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Eneto having to interfere. Jairo Lizar's late challenge caught a Vinchina's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Lizar helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Lizar. Fabio Frisco scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moises Senon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabio Frisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moises Senon having to interfere. River Plate's Fabio Frisco got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moises Senon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Ekhi in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Vinchina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceferino Salvidor to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Fabio Frisco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Osvaldo Ekhi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Osvaldo Ekhi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Moises Senon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Moises Senon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabio Frisco in the 55th minute. Ceferino Salvidor kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Bruno Padro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Moises Senon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moises Senon came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Osvaldo Ekhi. But to his dismay, Osvaldo Ekhi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. With a little luck, Vinchina's Moises Senon got control of the ball when Fabio Frisco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Osvaldo Ekhi kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Frisco got free with Moises Senon in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Fabio Frisco could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Moises Senon however easily saved by the left post. The Vinchina fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
