Fabricio Honesto came out of the goal and Orlando Kiliz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the game, Caspalá FC's Constantino Jakes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Epifanio Iturri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. After 47 minutes, Bonifacio Argi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caspalá FC and the Hidalgo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bonifacio Argi hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute Fulgencio Esiquio managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ezequiel Elequemedo to make the kick off.
