When Emanuel Niva fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Lion King's protests and gave Emanuel Niva a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Club Atlético Lion King got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Niva. 0-1 became the score in the 4th minute when Ciro Nastasio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The long shot by Santiago Lucero in the 11th minute really tested Mario Manny's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Leon Venerando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Nastasio in the 15th minute of the match. Melchor Gaizkine hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Alvaro Gar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Mario Manny made a huge save. If Alvaro Gar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Atlético Lion King's Leon Venerando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Frederik in the 24th minute of play. Alvaro Gar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Mario Manny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Atlético Lion King's Feliciano Roano got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 36 minutes, Ciro Nastasio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garza IB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Nastasio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Melchor Gaizkine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Mario Manny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leon Venerando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Frederik in the 42nd minute of play. Ciro Nastasio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Frederik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Venerando having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Feliciano Roano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mario Manny having to make a save. 52 minutes into the match, Garza IB's goal looked a bit too open when Melchor Gaizkine came free, but Mario Manny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Gar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Roano in the 62nd minute of play forced Garza IB's goalkeeper Mario Manny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliciano Roano in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mario Manny saved Garza IB from getting behind. When Miguel Frederik came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Garza IB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Frederik couldn't finish the play. If Ciro Nastasio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Beturian kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Alvaro Gar came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Club Atlético Lion King fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvaro Gar couldn't finish the play. Alvaro Gar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mario Manny read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lion King's goalkeeper Leon Venerando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciro Nastasio. If Miguel Frederik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ciro Nastasio came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Garza IB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Nastasio couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Garza IB walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
