With a little luck, Abril FC's Ricardo Fertus got control of the ball when Elvio Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Sergio Giro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. German Jokin struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Ricardo Fertus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rivera F.C.. When Abril FC's Domingos Feliu in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rivera F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abril FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Fertus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Clemente Nel hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Felix Seguinus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Bemabe having to interfere. Domingos Feliu scored 0-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Honorato Bemabe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domingos Feliu made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Feliu in the 51st minute of play forced Rivera F.C.'s goalkeeper Honorato Bemabe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute of the match Abril FC got a corner. Rivera F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Clemente Nel ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Cesar Teodor managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Domingos Feliu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abril FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Feliu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorato Bemabe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Jokin in the 63rd minute of play forced Abril FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Fertus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Fertus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elvio Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Feliu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elvio Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Fertus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elvio Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. 76 minutes into the match, Abril FC's goal looked a bit too open when German Jokin came free, but Ricardo Fertus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Dantel during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eliseo Bembe made a great header on Rivera F.C.'s corner, it was just that Abril FC's Ricardo Fertus managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Rivera F.C. booed when Abril FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Seguinus didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute German Jokin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Fertus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Elvio Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Abril FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
