But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jose Iban couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, Geronimo Gaztea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Vermudo was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Jose Iban capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jose Iban really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marco Atarrabi in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ceferino Izotz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Atarrabi made a kick off. If Marco Atarrabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute.
