Gregorio Mannie started the match with the kick off. Melquiades Ereinotz charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Melquiades Ereinotz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Laguna AFC booed when Ceferino Namuncura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Ereinotz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esteban Batista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patricio Vellito in the 5th minute. Ceferino Namuncura's Esteban Batista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Ceferino Namuncura from getting a goal against them. 8 minutes into the game, Laguna AFC's Gregorio Mannie nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Esteban Batista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Serafino Martinez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulises Gonsalvo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Cesar Ur struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Ulises Gonsalvo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceferino Namuncura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Danel in the 14th minute of play forced Ceferino Namuncura's goalkeeper Esteban Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Txindoki got free with Esteban Batista in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 24th play minutes Serafino Martinez shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Ulises Gonsalvo and just under the crossbar into goal. When Serafino Martinez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 29 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ulises Gonsalvo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Tomás Quico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Gonsalvo having to interfere. When Serafino Martinez came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Ceferino Namuncura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafino Martinez couldn't finish the play. Serafino Martinez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ulises Gonsalvo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Vellito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Esteban Batista made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Laguna AFC's Cesar Vincente got a free kick in the 39th minute. Esteban Batista made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Saul Bastian sent off a good shot on target. Esteban Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Danel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregorio Mannie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Batista having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serafino Martinez to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Patricio Vellito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 53 in the game by Serafino Martinez from a close distance when the talented Ulises Gonsalvo managed to make a qualified save. Laguna AFC's players were relieved. 56 minutes into the match, Saul Bastian notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ceferino Namuncura's Esteban Batista. Esteban Batista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 59 played minutes Ceferino Namuncura got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Martinez. After some careless play in the Ceferino Namuncura defense, Saul Bastian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Batista. The Ceferino Namuncura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Batista should have stopped the shot. Carolo Lohitzun's late challenge caught a Ceferino Namuncura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carolo Lohitzun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Carolo Lohitzun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 72 minutes, Serafino Martinez made it 3-3 with a short kick to the right side. Laguna AFC's Ulises Gonsalvo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 75 played minutes Laguna AFC got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Vellito. 81 minutes into the match, Ceferino Namuncura's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Vellito came free, but Esteban Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteban Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Vellito in the 82nd minute of the match. When Cesar Ur came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ceferino Namuncura fans jumped to their feet. Ceferino Namuncura's Cesar Ur got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 92 minutes into the game, Serafino Martinez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ulises Gonsalvo. Serafino Martinez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-4. The Ceferino Namuncura supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ceferino Namuncura would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
