In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. Independiente's goalkeeper Arsenio Barrionuevo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Ubaldo Mingo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, C.A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Sixto Eguntsenti came free, but Arsenio Barrionuevo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barrio Fátima FC's Prudencio Figueroa got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 38 minutes, Manuel Rencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrio Fátima FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Rencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sixto Eguntsenti struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Arsenio Barrionuevo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barrio Fátima FC. Sixto Eguntsenti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Barrionuevo having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ariel Theobald was the one to do the kick off. When Omar Nerio fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. Independiente's protests and gave Omar Nerio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.A. Independiente getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Omar Nerio hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Prudencio Figueroa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barrio Fátima FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudencio Figueroa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arsenio Barrionuevo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sixto Eguntsenti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prudencio Figueroa hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. If Sixto Eguntsenti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jacobo Leheren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Theobald in the 61st minute of the match.
