A collision led to Buenos Días getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Elias Oalo hit a great ball. The Buenos Días fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Buenos Días's Carlos Fernando Meireles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 10th minute, C.A. Independiente's Edelmiro Diegotxe seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edelmiro Diegotxe the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.A. Independiente protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edelmiro Diegotxe had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in C.A. Independiente fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Carlos Fernando Meireles shot the penalty kick right outside the post. With a little luck, C.A. Independiente's Arsenio Barrionuevo got control of the ball when Carlos Fernando Meireles tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, C.A. Independiente's Omar Nerio got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of Buenos Días booed when C.A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Nerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 23 played minutes C.A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Iratzeder. Baldomiro Domeka hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the game, Buenos Días's Carlos Fernando Meireles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arsenio Barrionuevo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Meireles in the 32nd minute of play forced C.A. Independiente's goalkeeper Arsenio Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Fernando Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Arsenio Barrionuevo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Meireles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Arsenio Barrionuevo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlos Fernando Meireless short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Arsenio Barrionuevo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlos Fernando Meireles in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arsenio Barrionuevo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Damian Guter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Fernando Meireles took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arsenio Barrionuevo. Arsenio Barrionuevo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Fernando Meireles to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Fernando Meireles in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arsenio Barrionuevo saved C.A. Independiente from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Independiente's zone, Fabricio Kelemen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arsenio Barrionuevo came out of the goal and Fabricio Kelemen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Fernando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Olivar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Barrionuevo having to interfere. Ubaldo Mingo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arsenio Barrionuevo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Americo Leoiar in the 65th minute of the match. Carlos Fernando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Damian Guter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arsenio Barrionuevo having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Independiente's zone, Esteban Olivar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arsenio Barrionuevo came out of the goal and Esteban Olivar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the C.A. Independiente defense, Carlos Fernando Meireles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arsenio Barrionuevo. The C.A. Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arsenio Barrionuevo should have stopped the shot. In the 78th minute Carlos Fernando Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Barrionuevo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Americo Leoiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Barrionuevo having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buenos Días's Esteban Olivar got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C.A. Independiente's Arsenio Barrionuevo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Meireles in the 85th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Carlos Fernando Meireles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arsenio Barrionuevo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Damian Guter struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Arsenio Barrionuevo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buenos Días. Carlos Fernando Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Arsenio Barrionuevo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Buenos Días players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
