The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pastor Kusko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Saul Edorta made a huge save. Elvio Figueroa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Saul Edorta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Provolone FC's goalkeeper Saul Edorta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Elvio Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clun Atletico River Plate's zone, Salvador Nardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Oihenarte came out of the goal and Salvador Nardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Frechoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Modesto Oihenarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evaristo Frechoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Arnoldo Jaizki charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnoldo Jaizki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arnoldo Jaizki hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute, Pastor Kusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Modesto Oihenarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Frechoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Elvio Figueroa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saul Edorta was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Faustino Astrada's late challenge caught a Clun Atletico River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustino Astrada helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Faustino Astrada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Provolone FC's Saul Edorta got control of the ball when Pastor Kusko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Provolone FC's Saul Edorta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvio Figueroa in the 37th minute of play. Saul Edorta made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Pastor Kusko sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute, Provolone FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Elvio Figueroa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elvio Figueroa to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Provolone FC booed when Clun Atletico River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Bertin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Evaristo Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Salvador Nardo came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Provolone FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Nardo couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute Pastor Kusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Edorta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clun Atletico River Plate's Modesto Oihenarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Frechoso in the 65th minute of play. A collision led to Clun Atletico River Plate getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Esteban Montay hit a great ball. Provolone FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maximo Brais in the 69th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Teodoro Nesto heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 73 played minutes Provolone FC got a freekick which was hit by Saul Honrio. Salvador Nardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Oihenarte having to interfere. Saul Edorta came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Clun Atletico River Plate's Elvio Figueroa. But to his dismay, Elvio Figueroa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Provolone FC's Evaristo Frechoso got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Clun Atletico River Plate were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Provolone FC for a fine match.
