Cesar Jatsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Frutos having to interfere. After a rather tough play, RIvErPlATE's Camilo Teodor got a free kick in the 16th minute. Elias Loreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Frutos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. If Saul Janpier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. When Apolo Lorencio fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIvErPlATE's protests and gave Apolo Lorencio a yellow card for diving instead. Apolo Lorencio hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 48 minutes RIvErPlATE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Baldomiro Basualdo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Elite FC's Elias Loreto to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernando Frutos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnoldo Salvino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
