After having played for 13 minutes, Amancio Indartsu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CLUB ATLETICO AGUSTIN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amancio Indartsu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bernabe Oskitz's late challenge caught a CLUB ATLETICO AGUSTIN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After the first half CLUB ATLETICO AGUSTIN were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO AGUSTIN's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Frantzes came free, but Melchor Sandaili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The boca juniors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching CLUB ATLETICO AGUSTIN's performance.
