Velez Sarsfield's Benny Rutten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Jatsu in the 3rd minute of play. Benny Rutten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Orkatz in the 8th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Capdevila's zone, Federico Baldovino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelino Fresco came out of the goal and Federico Baldovino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angelino Fresco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Caetano, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Angelino Fresco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paolo Clemencin in the 18th minute. After 26 minutes of play, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Paolo Clemencin made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelino Fresco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnulfo Caetano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st match minute, Capdevila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Mark to maneuver through the defense. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Federico Baldovino to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Capdevila got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Orkatz. Angelino Fresco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paolo Clemencin went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Capdevila's Wilfredo Ixaka got a free kick in the 57th minute. Benny Rutten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Jatsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Paolo Clemencin managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Velez Sarsfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Paolo Clemencin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Fresco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeo Jatsu in the 85th minute of play forced C. A. Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Benny Rutten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
