Emanuel Larra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Amadeo Kimetz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severiano Bermudo's late challenge caught a Barreal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Bermudo helped the player get up and apologised. Emanuel Larra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeo Kimetz having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Fernendo got free with Emanuel Farias in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximiliano Abaunza during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Amadeo Kimetz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Barreal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Almafuerte had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
