The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lavalle booed when C. A. Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Baldovino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roberto Oliveiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Osvaldo Lehoi made a huge save. Osvaldo Lehoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Oliveiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Florentino Nalo got a free kick in the 9th minute. Lavalle's Osvaldo Lehoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Oliveiro in the 14th minute of play. Arnoldo Iaki hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Federico Baldovino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Osvaldo Lehoi. Lavalle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Federico Baldovino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Lavalle's Osvaldo Lehoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Lavalle from getting a goal against them. When Emanuel Eder came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Lavalle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Eder couldn't finish the play. Lavalle's Osvaldo Lehoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Lavalle from getting a goal against them. Federico Baldovino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Osvaldo Lehoi made a huge save. Osvaldo Lehoi was a little too slow when Roberto Oliveiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 2-0. Florentino Nalo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 39th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 40th minute Roberto Oliveiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Lehoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Lehoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Baldovino in the 44th minute of the match. Edelmiro Aureo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Damian Ciano scored 3-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvaldo Lehoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Federico Baldovino made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Lavalle's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Baldovino came free, but Osvaldo Lehoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Lehoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Federico Baldovino in the 57th minute of play. Edelmiro Aureo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benny Rutten having to make a save. After a rather tough play, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Victoriano Gaskon got a free kick in the 60th minute. Benny Rutten acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 61st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Emanuel Eder. 62 minutes into the match, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Edelmiro Aureo came free, but Benny Rutten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salvador Herauso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Federico Baldovino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldo Lehoi was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 70 played minutes C. A. Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Federico Baldovino. 73 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Aureo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lavalle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Velez Sarsfield the free kick. C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Benny Rutten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Velez Sarsfield from getting a goal against them. Edelmiro Aureo got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 79 played minutes Lavalle got a freekick which was hit by Edelmiro Aureo. Osvaldo Lehoi came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Federico Baldovino. But to his dismay, Federico Baldovino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After 86 played minutes Lavalle got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Eder. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Ciano in the 89th minute of play forced Lavalle's goalkeeper Osvaldo Lehoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Lehoi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florentino Nalo went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score.
