Anibal Bastia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Mogel in the 7th minute of play. If Saul Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Txaran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Bastia having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Saul Txaran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Empalme's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Txaran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anibal Bastia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Mogel, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Saul Txaran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chacharramendi's Anibal Bastia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Txaran in the 34th minute of play. Guillermo Sustrai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Blanco having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Empalme's goalkeeper Camilo Blanco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Sustrai. After the first half Empalme were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Belo to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Chacharramendi's Guillermo Sustrai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camilo Blanco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 54 minutes into the game, Esteban Mogel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Anibal Bastia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Saul Txaran kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anibal Bastia. That made the score 0-3 in the 66 minute of play. Anibal Bastia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Mogel in the 71st minute. If Saul Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Serafino Iraido from long distance, 79 minutes into the match, got Anibal Bastia's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Anibal Bastia came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Empalme's Esteban Mogel. But to his dismay, Esteban Mogel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Esteban Mogel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Bastia having to interfere. Esteban Mogels short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Anibal Bastia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 87 minutes, Hilario Venceslao mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Empalme and the Chacharramendi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th minute, Hilario Venceslao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Julian Belo made a precise shot to the right of Camilo Blanco. Empalme's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. If Saul Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Mogel got free with Anibal Bastia in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Empalme's Saul Txaran in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chacharramendi's goalie prevented a goal. Empalme played a much better game than Chacharramendi and deserved their victory. The Chacharramendi players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
