Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kanario F.C.'s Amadeo Ofelio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Empalme's zone, Amadeo Ofelio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Blanco came out of the goal and Amadeo Ofelio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esteban Mogel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 18 played minutes, Empalme's Guido Hernandez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Octavio Abancens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Empalme reached it. After a rather tough play, Kanario F.C.'s Astor Rufo got a free kick in the 19th minute. After some careless play in the Kanario F.C. defense, Esteban Mogel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavio Abancens. The Kanario F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavio Abancens should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Empalme's Octavio Abancens threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Saul Txaran, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Kanario F.C.'s zone, Esteban Mogel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavio Abancens came out of the goal and Esteban Mogel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Empalme's Everardo Lopes got a free kick in the 40th minute. Amadeo Ofelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Blanco having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Amadeo Ofelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kanario F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeo Ofelio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saul Txaran stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Octavio Abancens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Txaran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Kanario F.C.'s Astor Rufo got a free kick in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Mogel in the 56th minute of play forced Kanario F.C.'s goalkeeper Octavio Abancens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Empalme's supporters rose to their feet, but Saul Txaran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octavio Abancens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the match, Kanario F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Saul Txaran came free, but Octavio Abancens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Esteban Mogel made a precise shot to the right of Octavio Abancens. Kanario F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. When Everardo Lopes fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Empalme's protests and gave Everardo Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd match minute, Empalme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Everardo Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Mauro Meder kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the game, Saul Txaran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Octavio Abancens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Saul Txaran's late challenge caught a Kanario F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saul Txaran helped the player get up and apologised. After 82 played minutes Empalme got a freekick which was hit by Saul Txaran. The supporters of Empalme booed when Kanario F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Perrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Empalme's Esteban Mogel in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Octavio Abancens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kanario F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
