The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Etor in the 19th minute of play forced Por Honoris Causa's goalkeeper Remigio Aresti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Virgilio Etor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Virgilio Etor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio Aresti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. If Victor Eufemio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd match minute, Santamarina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Abajas to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Anibal Sabino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Por Honoris Causa's Victor Eufemio in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santamarina's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Eufemio to make the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match, Virgilio Etor tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Remigio Aresti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Santamarina's Rodolfo Ramond got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgilio Etor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigio Aresti having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Por Honoris Causa's zone, Rodolfo Ramond stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remigio Aresti came out of the goal and Rodolfo Ramond tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodolfo Ramond blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remigio Aresti having to make a save. Por Honoris Causa's Remigio Aresti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Por Honoris Causa from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Etor in the 73rd minute of play forced Por Honoris Causa's goalkeeper Remigio Aresti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santamarina's Santiago Chayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Sabino in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Anibal Sabino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santiago Chayo. Santamarina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anibal Sabino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Anibal Sabino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Chayo having to interfere. Pastor Quinteros charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pastor Quinteros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Por Honoris Causa's Luis Banegas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 90th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Santamarina. 92 minutes into the game, Alberto Michael was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santamarina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Por Honoris Causa the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Santamarina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Michael to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Santamarina's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luis Banegas was slow to take the kick. During this time Por Honoris Causa's players had a chance to rest. Amadeo Gaueko made a great header on Por Honoris Causa's corner, it was just that Santamarina's Santiago Chayo managed to reach the ball for a save. Anibal Sabino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
