The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladimiro Cordera got free with Jaime Bitxintxo in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaime Bitxintxo stood somewhat misplaced when Isidro Hanot came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. Isidro Hanot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Bitxintxo having to interfere. Armando Rexino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Arotza in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute Isidro Hanot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Bitxintxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimiro Cordera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Bitxintxo having to make a save. Aldosivi's Armando Rexino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Arotza in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidro Hanot in the 25th minute of play forced Iguazú AFC's goalkeeper Jaime Bitxintxo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vladimiro Cordera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th match minute, Iguazú AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Eliazar to maneuver through the defense. Iguazú AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Isidro Hanot 29 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. A collision led to Aldosivi getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Daniel Ihazintu hit a great ball. Aldosivi's Isidro Hanot got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Aldosivi booed when Iguazú AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roque Eliazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Aldosivi's Isidro Lluques broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Iguazú AFC's zone, Vladimiro Cordera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Bitxintxo came out of the goal and Vladimiro Cordera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Arnulfo Berbiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jaime Bitxintxo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 48th minute, Jimeno Pietro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 50 minutes into the match, Iguazú AFC's goalkeeper Jaime Bitxintxo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladimiro Cordera. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eloy Arotza to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Iguazú AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Aldosivi:s goal. Eloy Arotza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Armando Rexino having to make a save. Jaime Bitxintxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidro Hanot in the 68th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Vladimiro Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aldosivi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiro Cordera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Aldosivi booed when Iguazú AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Pietro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vladimiro Cordera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jaime Bitxintxo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th match minute, Iguazú AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Pietro to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Aldosivi's Vladimiro Cordera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime Bitxintxo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jaime Bitxintxo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Aldosivi's Isidro Hanot shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Isidro Hanot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidro Hanot struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Jaime Bitxintxo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aldosivi. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Aldosivi had played much better football throughout.
