Javier Ovando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolo Blai in the 6th minute of play. When Colon SF's Primitivo Dei in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boca Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. Constantino Goren's late challenge caught a Colon SF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Constantino Goren helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Colon SF booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantino Goren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Breogan. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Danilo Nahia got a free kick in the 20th minute. Primitivo Dei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Ovando having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Remir in the 23rd minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Javier Ovando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Ovando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Dei in the 24th minute of play. In the 29th minute Primitivo Dei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Ovando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danilo Nahia during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute of the match Epifanio Jerold shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Javier Ovando showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Boca Juniors's Javier Ovando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Dei in the 32nd minute of play. If Primitivo Dei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 35 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Cordaro came free, but Javier Ovando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fulgencio Eusko during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With splendid footwork Primitivo Dei arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 40th minute. Primitivo Dei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Javier Ovando made a huge save. Javier Ovando came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Colon SF's Bartolo Blai. But to his dismay, Bartolo Blai quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Primitivo Dei to make the kick off. In the 59th minute Venancio Barea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alba Idiaquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61stth minute of the game Primitivo Dei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Javier Ovando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Boca Juniors's Danilo Nahia got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Danilo Nahia off the ground. After 64 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Nahia. After 65 played minutes, Colon SF's Epifanio Jerold shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Javier Ovando came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colon SF reached it. In the 68thth minute of the game Primitivo Dei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Javier Ovando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 69th minute, Bartolo Blai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colon SF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Efrain Olo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosio Franco in the 72nd minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Javier Ovando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javier Ovando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Dei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Colon SF's Alfredo Remir got a free kick in the 90th minute. The supporters of Colon SF booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Eusko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Ovando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Dei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Colon SF players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
