After a rather tough play, Petroquimica's Cornelio Garcia got a free kick in the 5th minute. Victoriano Afonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Uriel Santikurtz having to make a save. In the 12thth minute of the game Americo Beltxe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but rosarioCentral's Octavio Maldonado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Victoriano Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Santikurtz having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Roberto Lehior rounded Petroquimica's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Omar Patxi took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavio Maldonado. Octavio Maldonado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Omar Patxi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Octavio Maldonado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Omar Patxi notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of rosarioCentral's Octavio Maldonado. Octavio Maldonado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th minute, Roberto Lehior hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Lehior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Uriel Santikurtz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Lehior recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th match minute, Petroquimica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Inko to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Victoriano Afonso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After the first half Petroquimica were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Uriel Santikurtz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Lehior in the 55th minute of the match. When Omar Patxi came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Petroquimica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Patxi couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Roberto Lehior's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Uriel Santikurtz was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. The supporters of rosarioCentral booed when Petroquimica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Inko didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Victoriano Afonso sped through Petroquimica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Uriel Santikurtz. Omar Patxi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Octavio Maldonado made a huge save. Uriel Santikurtz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Afonso in the 76th minute of play. Uriel Santikurtz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Lehior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Lehior fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uriel Santikurtz having to interfere. Omar Patxi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Octavio Maldonado made a huge save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
