Spectators: 6762 (Terracing: 5100, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Horacio Lucila kicked off to start the match. Teofilo Quentin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saul Quin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Saul Quin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bonifacio Terciero in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Independencia AFC's Danilo Edwardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saul Quin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Saul Quin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Terciero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Lucila in the 23rd minute of play forced Independencia AFC's goalkeeper Severino Walme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Independencia AFC's zone, Paulino Sagrario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Walme came out of the goal and Paulino Sagrario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Lucila in the 29th minute of play forced Independencia AFC's goalkeeper Severino Walme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saul Quin came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Independencia AFC's Bonifacio Terciero. But to his dismay, Bonifacio Terciero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Bonifacio Terciero came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Independencia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Terciero couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute Horacio Lucila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Walme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bonifacio Terciero struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Saul Quin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independencia AFC. Vinicio Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by Diego Marado's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ivan Ledesma was slow to take the kick. During this time Independencia AFC's players had a chance to rest. After the first half Independencia AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bonifacio Terciero made the kick off in the second half. Gaston Sansone succeeded in the game's 61st minute to get real power on a long shot . Independencia AFC's Severino Walme hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 1-2! Paulino Sagrario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bonifacio Terciero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Diego Marado's Saul Quin got control of the ball when Teofilo Quentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Independencia AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Independencia AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
