Jairo Medero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Otsando, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Zeledon Regis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Felipe Darien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Fermin Cugat came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Chaparro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fermin Cugat couldn't finish the play. If Luciano Abajas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramon Rik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fermin Cugat in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Otsando in the 26th minute of play forced Chaparro's goalkeeper Jairo Medero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chaparro's Elias Heli got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fermin Cugat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo Azevedo got free with Jairo Medero in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the match, Deportivo León's goal looked a bit too open when Fermin Cugat came free, but Ramon Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Elias Heli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chaparro's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Heli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramon Rik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, Deportivo León's goal looked a bit too open when Fermin Cugat came free, but Ramon Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Chaparro's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Txanton came free, but Jairo Medero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match, Julio Txanton got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jairo Medero was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Fermin Cugat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fermin Cugat to strike the kick off in the second half. Fermin Cugat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ramon Rik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Deportivo León getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in Chaparro's zone, Damaso Otsando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Medero came out of the goal and Damaso Otsando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jairo Medero came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo León's Felipe Darien. But to his dismay, Felipe Darien quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Luciano Abajas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Felipe Darien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Medero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes in the game Zeledon Regis got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Fermin Cugat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ramon Rik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
