Futbol Club Belgrano's Fermin Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Deportivo Resaca's goalkeeper Ismael Tabb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fermin Marquez. Francisco Romelio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matias Nicholas went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 21st minute, Matias Nicholas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Resaca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Anselmo Chan hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Reynaldo Selatse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Tabb having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Ernesto Toribio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 29 minutes, Matias Nicholas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Resaca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Nicholas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fermin Marquez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Ismael Tabb skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Freddy Peyo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ismael Tabb. That made the score 2-2 in the 38 minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reynaldo Selatse to make the kick off. A hard shot 57 in the game by Fernando Truylos from a close distance when the talented Francisco Romelio managed to make a qualified save. Futbol Club Belgrano's players were relieved. Filiberto Mateo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filiberto Mateo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Futbol Club Belgrano's Filiberto Mateo got a free kick in the 59th minute. Matias Nicholas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 62 played minutes Futbol Club Belgrano got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Peyo. Francisco Romelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Nicholas, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 63rd minute, Ernesto Toribio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 65 minutes into the match, Fernando Truylos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Romelio. Futbol Club Belgrano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Truylos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fermin Marquez in the 72nd minute of play forced Deportivo Resaca's goalkeeper Ismael Tabb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismael Tabb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermin Marquez in the 73rd minute of play. If Reynaldo Selatse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fermin Marquez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78th match minute, Deportivo Resaca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Hanot to maneuver through the defense. Deportivo Resaca's Ismael Tabb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Selatse in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Deportivo Resaca getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Anselmo Chan hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Matias Nicholas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Reynaldo Selatse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Tabb having to interfere. Fermin Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ismael Tabb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Resaca's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
