Spectators: 7238 (Terracing: 5430, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) Celestino Walme started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Lugano FC's zone, Isidro Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niceto Reno came out of the goal and Isidro Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Astor Felo came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Esquina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Felo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesus Ibañez in the 11th minute of play forced Esquina's goalkeeper Saul Enmanuel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saul Enmanuel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Quinteros, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Saul Enmanuel came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Lugano FC's Feliberto Elorri. But to his dismay, Feliberto Elorri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Esquina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Esquina's Saul Enmanuel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliberto Elorri in the 22nd minute of play. Saul Enmanuel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesus Ibañez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Jesus Ibañez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Jesus Ibañez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Enmanuel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Godofredo Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes Lugano FC got a freekick which was hit by Feliberto Elorri.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliberto Elorri made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Feliberto Elorri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jesus Ibañez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Saul Enmanuel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Esquina got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Indartsu. Esquina's Saul Enmanuel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliberto Elorri in the 63rd minute of play. After 70 played minutes Esquina got a freekick which was hit by Astor Felo. Godofredo Louis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Saul Enmanuel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Esquina's Atilano Ramos got a free kick in the 75th minute. Jesus Ibañez struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Saul Enmanuel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lugano FC. Niceto Reno came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Esquina's Celestino Walme. But to his dismay, Celestino Walme quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Saul Enmanuel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jesus Ibañez in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lugano FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
