The audience was convinced that Enzo Thomas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maximo Min was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Barrial AFC's zone, Enzo Thomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Min came out of the goal and Enzo Thomas tried to chip the ball over his head. Cayetano Garci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Min having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Honorio Cebo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belgrano de Cba's Niceto Piearres got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enzo Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Maximo Min tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Augusto Pio made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cipriano Pero during the 52nd minute.
