After 17 minutes of play, Chañar AFC's Gonzalo Etor made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guaberto Nel was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Chajarí FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chañar AFC:s goal. In the 27th minute there was a penalty for Chañar AFC. Luis Eguzki stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Guaberto Nel. 0-2. Nunez Orti was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leonides Regis. Eliseo Mateus might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nunez Orti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mateus ran back to his position shaking his head. Severiano Perico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chañar AFC's Rodrigo Cerilo got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chajarí FC's Guaberto Nel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Etor in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chañar AFC's zone, Leonides Regis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nunez Orti came out of the goal and Leonides Regis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Eliseo Mateus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chajarí FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Mateus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nunez Orti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th match minute, Chañar AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Kepa to maneuver through the defense.

Leonides Regis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Orti having to interfere. 52 minutes into the match, Severiano Perico notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Chañar AFC's Nunez Orti. Nunez Orti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
