An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Selmo in the 20th minute of play forced Jardón's goalkeeper Dante Sol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Joel Selmo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C A Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Selmo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C A Boca Juniors eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
