The audience was convinced that Generoso Perez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isaac Nafarroa was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Edgardo Saturnin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Escalando Posiciones's goalkeeper Eulalio Ekhi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Leopoldo Ixaka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Escalando Posiciones and the Patricio Rey F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. But to his dismay, Natalio Eneas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Generoso Perez to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Agustin Bidun had to leave the field with a concussion. After 53 played minutes Club Escalando Posiciones got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Baraquiel. 59 minutes into the match, Patricio Rey F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Eneas came free, but Isaac Nafarroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The coaching staff of Patricio Rey F.C protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alejo Abeita had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
