Spectators: 7290 (Terracing: 5470, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 144) Fidel Chico started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Fidel Chico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Donato Xacintu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donato Xacintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Chico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 played minutes Palmira got a freekick which was hit by Nicasio Nastasio. Donato Xacintu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Chico, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Edgard Lleir might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artemio Larpe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgard Lleir ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Larpe having to interfere. Artemio Larpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Agustín Almendra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artemio Larpe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Fidel Chico blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato Xacintu having to make a save. In the 29th minute, Fidel Chico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Deportivo San Martin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Robustiano Rocio hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Edgard Lleir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Palmira's Cristian Medina ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artemio Larpe. Artemio Larpe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Robustiano Rocio kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Donato Xacintu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Prejun in the 45th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaston Prejun during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roque Bras, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Cristian Medina put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Artemio Larpe. 57 minutes into the game, Edgard Lleir cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Artemio Larpe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gaston Prejun kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Roque Bras took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Artemio Larpe. Club Deportivo San Martin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Clodoveo Argi charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clodoveo Argi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo San Martin's Clodoveo Argi got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Edgard Lleir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Medina in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Larpe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Artemio Larpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Lleir, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Artemio Larpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Medina in the 94th minute of play. Cristian Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Larpe having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Palmira players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
