Edgard Lleir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Octavio Larpe made a huge save. In the 4th minute, Agustín Almendra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgard Lleir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Octavio Larpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edgard Lleir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Monteverde's Celso Telo got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Paolo Maureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Monteverde's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Medina came free, but Octavio Larpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeronimo Sein hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Edgard Lleir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Octavio Larpe made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, Cristian Medina dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Octavio Larpe, 1-0. Monteverde's Octavio Larpe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Monteverde from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 37 in the game by Edgard Lleir from a close distance when the talented Octavio Larpe managed to make a qualified save. Monteverde's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Medina in the 42nd minute of play forced Monteverde's goalkeeper Octavio Larpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Octavio Larpe successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Octavio Larpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Palmira were furious when Roberto Paez was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Inocencio Policarpio shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Medina was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Inocencio Policarpio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monteverde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Policarpio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Monteverde's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Medina came free, but Octavio Larpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robustiano Rocio struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Octavio Larpe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmira. Cristian Medina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Larpe having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, Monteverde's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Medina came free, but Octavio Larpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmira's Cristian Medina got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Robustiano Rocio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Cristian Medina notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Monteverde's Octavio Larpe. Octavio Larpe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julian Naelio during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 95 played minutes Monteverde got a freekick which was hit by Julian Naelio. The long shot by Marcos Fonda in the 98th minute really tested Donato Xacintu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Monteverde players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Palmira.
