Covunco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Sidoro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Armando Sidoro came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Galpones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Sidoro couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Galpones's goalkeeper Augusto Olentzaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Quintun. After a rather tough play, Galpones's Eleuterio Rutenio got a free kick in the 44th minute. Paulino Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Augusto Olentzaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Quintun, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Horacio Martinez. Hugo Quintun struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Augusto Olentzaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covunco. 90 minutes into the match, Covunco's Norberto Suarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Augusto Olentzaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eleuterio Rutenio kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Covunco's Antonio Jesco couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Galpones. If Gonzalo Ovando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
