The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Raul Sotil struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Ñacuñán FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Douglas Haig the free kick. Fidel Haritz kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Eugenio Corderall took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Santo Toribio. Ñacuñán FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ñacuñán FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eugenio Corderall was slow to take the kick. During this time Douglas Haig's players had a chance to rest. Bonifacio Gartzea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Carolo Cayo made a huge save. Raul Sotil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Pedro Rayman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ñacuñán FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Rayman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carolo Cayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Ñacuñán FC's Pedro Rayman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carolo Cayo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Pedro Rayman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carolo Cayo. Pedro Rayman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Bonifacio Gartzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute Pedro Rayman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carolo Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raul Sotil to make the kick off. If Bonifacio Gartzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Ñacuñán FC's Santo Toribio got control of the ball when Armando Paulin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ñacuñán FC's zone, Raul Sotil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Toribio came out of the goal and Raul Sotil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Armando Paulin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douglas Haig's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Paulin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Toribio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raul Sotil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santo Toribio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 67th minute, Douglas Haig's Raul Sotil dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 74 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Ñacuñán FC's Pedro Rayman fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 80th minute Raul Sotil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Toribio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Ñacuñán FC got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Marko. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ñacuñán FC's goalkeeper Santo Toribio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Godfredo Marko fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ñacuñán FC's protests and gave Godfredo Marko a yellow card for diving instead. Godfredo Marko kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Armando Paulin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th minute Bonifacio Gartzea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carolo Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Maximiliano Miliano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Raul Sotil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Douglas Haig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Sotil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
