When Gregorio Atarrabi came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Olimpo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gregorio Atarrabi couldn't finish the play. If Anselmo Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Gois was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Cirilo Araoz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cirilo Araoz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Lucio Senen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gregorio Atarrabi took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isidro Ebardo. Isidro Ebardo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Isidro Ebardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Cortez in the 40th minute of the match. Anselmo Cortez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Ebardo having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Atilano Ekhi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gregorio Atarrabi to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rapelli's zone, Gregorio Atarrabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Ebardo came out of the goal and Gregorio Atarrabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haroldo Larra's late challenge caught a Olimpo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haroldo Larra helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Olimpo's Hector Gamus got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Isidro Ebardo. With a little luck, Rapelli's Isidro Ebardo got control of the ball when Gregorio Atarrabi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Lucio Senen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olimpo's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucio Senen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Ebardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute Genaro Viviano suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Baldomero Aragones charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baldomero Aragones the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 77 minutes into the match, Olimpo's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Duarte came free, but João Gois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 83 minutes, Everardo Urdaspal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olimpo and the Rapelli players grew even worse after the yellow card. Herbert Gaszynski might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidro Ebardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herminio Mergildo hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cirilo Araoz during the 94th minute.
