The referee ignored JAMAICA NP's protests and gave Paulino Etxatxu a yellow card for diving instead. Norberto Elixio, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With an all-out effort, Atlanta's Victorino Iaki threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ladislao Rodas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. JAMAICA NP's Victorino Iaki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save JAMAICA NP from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, JAMAICA NP's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Rodas came free, but Victorino Iaki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Rodas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Victorino Iaki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arturo Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Paulino Etxatxu put in a rough tackle. Arturo Alonso took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorino Iaki. Victorino Iaki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ladislao Rodas to make the kick off. After 55 played minutes JAMAICA NP got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Rico. 57 minutes into the game, Atlanta's Arturo Alonso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victorino Iaki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ladislao Rodas in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victorino Iaki saved JAMAICA NP from getting behind. Godfredo Min scored 3-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramon Merexildo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, JAMAICA NP's Braulio Bartoleme got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 86th match minute, JAMAICA NP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Bazil to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute.
