Haroldo Gaztea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Abechuco in the 32nd minute of the match. Lorenzo Gonsalvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Gaztea having to interfere. Rodrigo Silbestre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorenzo Gonsalvo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Txurio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Behe, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When Lorenzo Gonsalvo got free in front of the goal in the 91st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Haroldo Gaztea was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
