Marapá AFC's Ovidio Raitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Brion in the 5th minute of play. Ubaldo Beltza kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Melquiades Gomez was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Abel Brion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ovidio Raitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Adrian Medina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Higinio Taurino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario Central's zone, Adrian Medina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Gaztea came out of the goal and Adrian Medina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Adrian Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Rosario Central's goal looked a bit too open when Melquiades Gomez came free, but Haroldo Gaztea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Rosario Central getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Robustiano Abadie hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Marapá AFC's Antonio Gartzen got a free kick in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Brion in the 47th minute of play forced Marapá AFC's goalkeeper Ovidio Raitin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Melquiades Gomez made a kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Jonathan Aresti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosario Central's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marapá AFC the free kick. In the 60th minute, one of Rosario Central:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rosario Central. The referee gave Marapá AFC a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Antonio Gartzen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rosario Central's Haroldo Gaztea. 1-0. Haroldo Gaztea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Haroldo Gaztea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Gomez in the 75th minute of the match. Luciano Quintan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Haroldo Gaztea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melquiades Gomez in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haroldo Gaztea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Marapá AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Gartzen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rosario Central's goalkeeper Haroldo Gaztea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Melquiades Gomez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Brion's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidio Raitin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 99th minute of play.
