Oscar Suarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Milio, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 8 minutes in the game, Didier Pironi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fabricio Carlomagno having to interfere. After 8th play minutes Sergio Acarreta shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Fabricio Carlomagno and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 12th minute, Candido Ongile hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sergio Acarreta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Wilfredo Ereinotz put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Oscar Suarez. Oscar Suarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hilario Oidor in the 46th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hilario Milio was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Chañaritos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Acarreta came free, but Fabricio Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Didier Pironi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilfredo Ereinotz kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Hilario Oidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 85 minutes into the match, Lanus AC's goal looked a bit too open when Hilario Milio came free, but Oscar Suarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute Placido Chabier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Carlomagno came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Lanus AC's Didier Pironi. But to his dismay, Didier Pironi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lanus AC fully deserved thier win.
