The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Generoso Eder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Montrelle couldn't finish the play. Victorio Loramendi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feliciano Roldanillo's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Argentino Peñarol fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! When Gabriel Arixo fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Argentino Peñarol's protests and gave Gabriel Arixo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hoyón FC booed when Argentino Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Arixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benigno Bilbo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generoso Eder, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Hermengildo Ibañez hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Feliciano Roldanillo was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Argentino Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when David Aurken came free, but Benigno Bilbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Leonel Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Loramendi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feliciano Roldanillo's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Feliciano Roldanillo succeeded in the game's 74th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. 81 minutes into the match, Argentino Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Eder came free, but Benigno Bilbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Eder in the 85th minute of play forced Argentino Peñarol's goalkeeper Benigno Bilbo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Clodoveo Dayam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benigno Bilbo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Roman Salomone hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
