Zárate's Ruben Cai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santo Ubelteso in the 20th minute of play. Saverio Eguerdi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Santo Ubelteso took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Ruben Cai to make any attempt to save it. 26 minutes into the match, Zárate's goalkeeper Ruben Cai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Laffitte. Santo Ubelteso might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruben Cai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santo Ubelteso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute, Severino Laffitte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severino Laffitte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltasar Senio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Quintin having to interfere. After 39 minutes of play, Zárate's Patricio Hug made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cayetano Quintin was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Baltasar Senio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baltasar Senio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Laffitte in the 61st minute of play forced Zárate's goalkeeper Ruben Cai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Hug struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Cayetano Quintin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zárate. In the 83rdth minute of the game Severino Laffitte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zárate's Ruben Cai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A well placed Baltasar Senio short distance shot in the 85th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Cayetano Quintin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Senio, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Santo Ubelteso took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruben Cai. Ruben Cai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. The supporters of Paneumo FC booed when Zárate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Perico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute of the match Carolo Firmin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruben Cai skillfully saved the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Zárate eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
