Independencia's Joaquin Valiente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Reyes in the 25th minute of play. If Eustaquio Reyes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Valiente stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ubaldo Tristan's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. With a little luck, Chaco For Ever's Angelino Herena got control of the ball when Rafael Gorosti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ubaldo Tristan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Joaquin Valiente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ubaldo Tristan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Eustaquio Reyes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Paulino Hibai's late challenge caught a Chaco For Ever's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Chaco For Ever's zone, Elpidio Henry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelino Herena came out of the goal and Elpidio Henry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eustaquio Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Independencia's Elpidio Henry got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 73 played minutes Independencia got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Matxin. After a defensive mix-up in Independencia's zone, Ubaldo Tristan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Valiente came out of the goal and Ubaldo Tristan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Tristan in the 80th minute of play forced Independencia's goalkeeper Joaquin Valiente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ubaldo Tristan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Valiente having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elpidio Henry in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Herena prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
