Feliberto Gaskon struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Albano Goito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itacaruaré AFC. Albano Goito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justo Eguntsenti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Ishmael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Txindoki, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Albano Goito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Viviano in the 20th minute of play. When Justo Eguntsenti came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Itacaruaré AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justo Eguntsenti couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Stegmann FC booed when Itacaruaré AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Lizardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Ishmael made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Feliciano Gamus sent off a good shot on target. Albano Goito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Viviano in the 27th minute of play. Stegmann FC's Albano Goito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Eguntsenti in the 28th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If Justo Eguntsenti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Aldo Nevada fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itacaruaré AFC's protests and gave Aldo Nevada a yellow card for diving instead. Aldo Nevada hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Agustin Senon didn't quite understand what happened when in the 63 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Justo Eguntsenti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albano Goito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Gervasio Viviano was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 68th minute. When Ulises Jobo fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stegmann FC's protests and gave Ulises Jobo a yellow card for diving instead. 86 minutes into the game, one of Stegmann FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Itacaruaré AFC. Conrado Lizardi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Albano Goito. 1-1. Artemio Palban's late challenge caught a Itacaruaré AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artemio Palban helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Feliciano Gamus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stegmann FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliciano Gamus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Ishmael breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Itacaruaré AFC's zone, Luciano Txindoki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Ishmael came out of the goal and Luciano Txindoki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stegmann FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Itacaruaré AFC had controlled the match.
