Angelo Matia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Vincent's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Denis Frederik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 11 played minutes Nottingham Forest F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Berasko. Angelo Diegotxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Santiago in the 17th minute of play. After some careless play in the Piamonte FC defense, Isaias Santiago kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Diegotxe. The Piamonte FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Diegotxe should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute Luciano Vincent shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Matia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Nottingham Forest F.C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Silvestre Silviano hit a great ball. Angelo Diegotxe was a little too slow when Isaias Santiago got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 2-0. After 38 played minutes Nottingham Forest F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Silviano. 46 minutes into the match, Piamonte FC's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Santiago came free, but Angelo Diegotxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernan Paez got free with Angelo Diegotxe in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaias Santiago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Mauricio Hunfredo put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Nottingham Forest F.C. a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Godfredo Etxeberri, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Piamonte FC's Angelo Diegotxe. 3-0. Angelo Diegotxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Santiago, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th match minute, Nottingham Forest F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Berasko to maneuver through the defense. If Denis Frederik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Gauargi during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nottingham Forest F.C.! Hernan Paez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st match minute, Nottingham Forest F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Paez to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Nottingham Forest F.C.'s zone, Denis Frederik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Matia came out of the goal and Denis Frederik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeronimo Perez hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Nottingham Forest F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Piamonte FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
