In the 3rd minute, Maximo Salbatore got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 6 minutes, Alfonso Etor made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. River Plate's Gaspar Ceandro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Adolfo Gaztea got a free kick in the 9th minute. Gaspar Ceandro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Arixo went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Edelmiro Guilabertus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Salbatore in the 14th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Mayuka's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Acuña came free, but Edelmiro Guilabertus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mayuka getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Teodoro Arixo hit a great ball. A hard shot 20 in the game by Teodoro Arixo from a close distance when the talented Gaspar Ceandro managed to make a qualified save. River Plate's players were relieved. 24 minutes into the game, Isidro Nesto threw the ball into play from the sideline. Mayuka's Aquiles Aires quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Santiago Abechuco kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind River Plate's goalkeeper Gaspar Ceandro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teodoro Arixo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Ceandro having to make a save. If Aquiles Aires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Etor was the one to do the kick off. If Alfonso Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquiles Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Galo. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Alfonso Etor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mayuka's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Etor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Ceandro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Alfonso Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Conrado Macias got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 64 minutes, Alfonso Etor made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. River Plate's Gaspar Ceandro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfonso Etor might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gaspar Ceandro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfonso Etor ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th match minute, Mayuka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justo Deunoro to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Etor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeo Larra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teodoro Arixo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Ceandro having to interfere. Alfonso Etor struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Gaspar Ceandro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mayuka. 87 minutes into the match, Alfonso Etor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gaspar Ceandro. River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfonso Etor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Etor in the 94th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Gaspar Ceandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mayuka walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
